MAC Midwest Youth Advisory Board Launching January 2026
We believe the best programs are built with young people, not just for them. That is why we are thrilled to announce the launch of the MAC Midwest Youth Advisory Board (YAB) — a new volunteer group created to empower youth voices, strengthen our programs, and expand our impact. We’re beginning this exciting new chapter in Minnesota and invite youth across the state to be the first members of our Youth Advisory Board.
Why the YAB Matters
The YAB is a space where young people can grow as leaders, share their voice, and create meaningful impact. By centering youth perspectives, the board will:
Provide feedback to ensure MAC’s services reflect real family and youth needs
Create youth-informed resources that improve access and belonging
Lead outreach initiatives that build acceptance and awareness of neurodiversity
What Members Will Do
Whether you are neurodivergent yourself, a sibling or friend, or simply someone who wants to learn and support, your voice matters here. YAB members will:
Share feedback on MAC programs and services to improve support for families
Help plan youth-centered events, art projects, or inclusive spaces that reflect youth voices
Collaborate on resources and communication tools to strengthen access to care
Create outreach and awareness projects such as videos, social posts, or fundraising ideas
Learn how nonprofit boards work by participating in meetings and contributing to real-world impact
