center based services
MAC Midwest provides comprehensive, center based services for children and adolescents with autism who benefit from structured, consistent, and coordinated care. Our centers are designed to create supportive learning environments where individuals can build skills, strengthen independence, and make meaningful progress over time.
Center based services are offered at 17 locations across Minnesota.
What Center Based Care Means
Center-based care provides a structured environment where therapy happens consistently, with access to multidisciplinary teams working together throughout the day. This setting allows us to:
Reduce barriers to learning
Provide predictable routines
Support communication and behavior goals
Encourage social development in real-time
Coordinate across disciplines without fragmentation
For many families, center-based services provide the intensity and consistency needed to support meaningful growth.
Comprehensive ABA
Our Comprehensive ABA program provides individualized, full-day or part-day support based on clinical need. Services are grounded in compassionate ABA and tailored to each child’s goals.
Comprehensive ABA may include:
Individual Skills
One-to-one therapy focused on communication, daily living skills, emotional regulation, behavior support, and other individualized goals.
Group Skills
Structured small-group instruction that supports peer interaction, social communication, and generalization of skills in a safe and supported setting.
Family Skills
Coaching and training for parents and caregivers to strengthen consistency between home and center, improve confidence, and support long-term progress.
What Compassionate ABA Means at MAC Midwest
Compassionate ABA is evidence-based, structured, and individualized. It is also respectful, responsive, and grounded in dignity.
At MAC Midwest, compassionate ABA means:
Teaching through positive reinforcement
Prioritizing emotional safety and readiness to learn
Breaking goals into achievable steps
Adjusting strategies based on progress and need
Supporting communication before expecting behavior change
We focus on meaningful goals that improve daily life, strengthen independence, and support each child’s ability to engage more fully with the world around them.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy services are integrated into center-based care when clinically appropriate. Speech-language pathologists support:
Expressive and receptive communication
Social communication
Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
Feeding and oral-motor needs
Speech services are coordinated with ABA and other therapies to ensure goals are aligned and progress is consistent.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy supports daily functioning, sensory processing, motor development, and independence. OT services may address:
Fine motor skills
Sensory regulation
Self-care skills
Play skills
Executive functioning
By integrating occupational therapy into center-based care, we ensure skill-building is practical and reinforced across the day.
Focused ABA
Supports Plus
Focused ABA is designed for individuals who need targeted intervention around specific behaviors or skill areas rather than comprehensive full-day support.
This model may address:
Communication goals
Behavior reduction
Social skills
Emotional regulation
Focused ABA provides structured, goal-directed intervention while allowing flexibility based on family schedules and clinical need.
Supports Plus is a higher-support, intensive program for individuals with significant needs who require more than traditional 1:1 services.
This program offers:
Increased staffing ratios
Enhanced safety planning
Highly individualized intervention
Close collaboration with families
Supports Plus is designed to ensure individuals with complex needs receive safe, dignified, and structured care that prioritizes stability, communication, and meaningful progress.
coordinated care within our centers
What sets MAC Midwest apart is not just the services offered, but how they work together. Our teams collaborate daily across disciplines to ensure treatment plans are aligned, progress is monitored closely, and adjustments are made thoughtfully.
As children grow and needs evolve, we support transitions within services and help families plan for what comes next.
