About MAC

The Minnesota Autism Center (MAC) was founded by parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), due in part to the institutional and social discrimination faced by those who were diagnosed. This group of parents laid the groundwork for a revolutionary therapy program centered around individualized programming that was geared towards behavior reduction and task independence, and could open a door for families seeking additional resources, education and support when learning to cope with ASD.

Nearly 20 years later, MAC has become the premiere provider of autism therapy services in Minnesota. All MAC programs are based on the scientifically proven success of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and performed under the instruction of licensed professionals educated in the field of mental and behavioral health. MAC’s intensive programming is lauded for its success in reducing the symptoms of autism while addressing global skills deficits in children and adolescents, and its emphasis on parent, sibling and family education.

MAC currently services children and adolescents ages 2 to 21 throughout the state of Minnesota through a variety of programs. These programs, whether in-home, center based or school based, are individually tailored and adapted to provide the absolute best program possible for each child and adolescent attending MAC. In this way, MAC upholds its mission to promote the general education and welfare of children and adolescents challenged by Autism Spectrum Disorder and support the development of healthy families.
