There are some days that remind us just how special the MAC Midwest community is. This year’s Doug Trangsrud Memorial Golf Tournament was one of them.
On August 18, 148 golfers joined us at The Wilds Golf Club for a beautiful day of golf, connection and celebration—all in support of MAC Midwest and the individuals and families we serve.
Together, our golfers, sponsors, donors, volunteers and supporters helped raise approximately $70,000 for MAC Midwest, making this year’s tournament one of our most successful yet.
But the day was about much more than the final total.
Guests started the morning with breakfast before heading out to the course, where a sold-out field of 37 teams spent the afternoon golfing and connecting. Players also received golf towels generously donated by Pin Hunters, one of the many thoughtful touches that helped make the day memorable.
Following golf, guests gathered for Toast to MAC, a special addition to this year’s tournament in recognition of MAC Midwest’s 30th anniversary. It gave our community an opportunity to come together beyond the course, celebrate how far MAC has come and recognize the people who have helped shape our organization over the past three decades.
At the heart of the tournament remains the memory of Doug Trangsrud and the Trangsrud family’s longstanding connection to MAC Midwest. Their story is an important reminder of why this tournament exists: to bring people together around a shared commitment to creating opportunities for individuals with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences to thrive.
We are especially grateful to the Trangsrud family for continuing to share Doug’s legacy with the MAC community and helping this event grow year after year.
We also extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, Foundation Board members and everyone who contributed to the success of the day. From filling the course to supporting the event through sponsorships and donations, this year’s turnout demonstrated the incredible strength of the community surrounding MAC.
The nearly $70,000 raised through this year’s tournament will help MAC Midwest continue providing compassionate, evidence-based services while supporting the people, programs and resources that make that care possible.
Thirty years into MAC Midwest’s story, days like this remind us that our work has always been powered by people—families, staff, donors, partners and friends who believe in our mission and continue to show up for it.
